How is PenTack® spread out?

Spray trucks:

The tanks at the spray trucks are devided into 4 smaller tanks in which 1 tank is for the rejuvenator emulsion, 2 are for the bitumen emulsion, and in which the last is for water.

The 3 components are mixed in-line during production. This means that PenTack® is adjusted the specific surface condition etc. As the pumps and flow metres in the trucks are computerized, we are able to modify each component in-line during production.

Each truck is provided with 2 adjustable bars, which means that our maximum spray width is 425 cm.

Sand sprayer:

After finishing PenTack®, we sand off with 0-2 mm crushed granite. If we work in airports we use 0-1 mm bituminized crushed granite.

M aximum spray width is 5 mtr. and 2 adjustable spreaders ensures proper and homogenous distribution of the material. The amount of crushed granite is from 0,2 kg/m2 until 2,5 kg/m.

Mostly we use from 1,3 until 1,9 kg. pr. m dry stenmel. At very trafical roads like motorways we use bituminized crushed granite like in the airports. The advantage of the bituminized crushed granite is that it does not raise dust.

It does not supply more binder!

Mini lorry:

The mini lorry is mainly used for the hand spray work and to transport road signs.

The mini lorry follows with hand spray material when the PenTack® spray truck is finished. After a while we are able to see if there are areas, which might have been more dry than the rest of the surface. If so we hand spray PenTack® at these specific areas to ensure a homogenous surface before we sand off.

Traffic barriers are according to existing legislation.
